In the ancient world people thought birds could see everything, so they were considered wise. When the last change to a new age occurred everything that was valued became demonized, fell out of fashion. Bird-brain became an insult & synonymous with stupidity. All the old deities were branded "evil" & they even managed to get rid of priestesses-unthinkable by those intimate with the Age of the Ram, but now at the end of the Age of the Fish everything turned upside down & reverting, deities once vigorously demonized are being seen in a new way.
The Olympic Pantheon seems to be nearer, or at least on a lot of people's minds: from commercials to a tv series "Valentine", "Xena" in the 90s, & "Hercules"2.
Isn't this what people want, something magical, something bigger than themselves but here with Humans; it's not like there isn't a precedent-a god wandering around in Human form, so why not a goddess?
This is what I sense slowly taking place, someone who brings unexpected good changes. I think this desire is seen in several films: Lady in the Water,
Splash, Harry Potter....
There is a desire out there, to make contact, to see...something....to feel there is more to life than work, toiling away, cooking, cleaning, going about one's daily life. This is what the various dominant religions are trying to fulfill, this....something just on the edges....outside of words.
This is why people go to church, the candles, the songs, the ritual of it all.....wanting to see the glowing magic pixie dust IN the 'bread of life'....to see something beautiful, just outside of words, something sacred to "recharge" one's exhausted soul, to drink the 'waters of life'-an old Egyptian tittle...
I want this, to see something outside the skin, to see into para-normal places, to borrow from the author of "Entangled Minds". It seems to me that humans need regular contact with the spirit-world, or the dream-world, with something magic. A dream is what got the Singer Sewing Machine invented; things seen in dreams often are the source of inventions. Dreams containing the impetus to found a city have been recorded, the Sphinx in Egypt was dug out because of a dream a Pharoh had & even wrote it down. Numerous passages in the Christian Bible recounting how a dream changed the direction of the dreamer's life.
Will a goddess arrive on planet Earth? Water carriers are traditionally women, & a goddess would definately be a strong contrast with the only-male deities of the last 2000 years, Hinduism notwithstanding. If Aquarius will be female how would anyone recognize her? What are the signs of divinity? They may not be what is expected; are there any prophecies concerning the next deity?
